WordPress is one of the greatest open source project that brought content management system to the masses. Android Linux on the other hand, as an open source operating system for mobile devices such as cellular phones, tablet computers and netbooks is becoming more popular every day attracting more and more developers.
WordPress for Android is an Open Source app that lets you manage multiple sites, add or edit content, and also manage and be notified of comments while you are away from your desktop/laptop computer.
Combining these to it’s the most beautiful thing that can happen in a freelance writers life. It has been 1 month and a half that I am a happy android linux device owner. One of the first things I did, was to install “WordPress for Android” to manage my website. Eight days ago I started an experiment. I thought that it would be a great idea to try and maintain a blog just form your smartphone. So what i went to wordpress.com and started a new blog. After configuring and tweaking it the blog was ready to go online.
“Dear Android Linux” is the name of the blog. It’s just a diary type blog with small and not-so-lengthy posts. In other words not a typical tech blog. It may sound silly to start every article with the phrase Dear Android Linux, but it is a common way that diaries begin. The articles and the contents (usually photos) are uploaded via my android device using the WordPress app mentioned above.
In 8 days of being online there are already 5 posts :
I hope that this experiment of mine will be intuitive and ultimately motive more people to use open source tools like these for any purpose to make their life easier and better.
