The previous release of uCareSystem, version 24.05.0, introduced enhanced maintenance and cleanup capabilities for flatpak packages. The uCareSystem 24.06.0 has a special treat for desktop users 🙂
This new version includes:
- For years the desktop version was launching using the uXterm Terminal. From now on, when you click the uCareSysterm icon, it will use the default terminal of your system. For example, if you use GNOME, it will launch in Gnome Terminal, on KDE will launch in Konsole etc.
- Once you launch the Desktop Terminal Version, at the end it will prompt you to “Press Enter to exit” so that it is easier to close the app once the maintenance is over (this is especially useful on tilling windowed desktop environments or keyboard oriented configurations)
- Added mentions to people who supported the development of the previous development cycle
- The rest of features are mentioned in the previous update
The people who supported the previous development cycle ( version 24.05 ) with their generous donations and are mentioned in the uCareSystem app:
- T. Turunen,
- P. Loughman,
- M. Spinello,
- M. Torres
- D. Issjö,
- P. Camilo

Hello, your program is fantastic and I have been using it for a long time. But since the last update it no longer works. I have tested several Ubuntu variants. Lite Linux, Linux Mint and also Ubuntu Mate. After the systems were updated, the program and the terminal version no longer work. After many attempts I gave up. Before I knew your program, I had written my own script. I use the commands apt update, apt upgrade, apt autoremove, apt autoclean and recently also flatpak update and snap refresh. My script is not as convenient as yours, but it has worked for many years.
